The old folks in Doghill tell their children and grandchildren familiar rural folk tales about ghosts and goblins and trolls, about daring highway robbers, and strange natural phenomena.

In the 19th century there were no gossipy tabloids and no camera-phones, but people were brought together and entertained by stories that were passed down via the oral tradition. Mauri Kunnas has delved into a wealth of books about local folklore and dialects and has reacquainted himself with the stories he heard as a child.
